1st of May – International Workers’ Day
In Romania, during the communist regime, the 1st of May was celebrated with huge propaganda parades. People wearing festive clothes were waving flags, carrying banners and parade in the streets. In Bucharest, the National Football Stadium hosted one of the largest celebrations.
After the 1989 Revolution, the parades stopped and people changed the way they spend Workers Day.
Short trips to the mountains or the seaside are now the most common activities. But regardless of the location, they all have in common one thing: THE MENU. Beer, mici (when in Romania, you gotta try mici) and anything else that can be cooked on the grill.
Mamaia and Vama veche are the most popular resorts at the Black Sea. Looking for glamor? Then Mamaia is the place for you! And while Mamaia is known for the luxurious parties, Vama Veche is exactly the opposite: a real Woodstock-like experience 🙂
