Dragobete – The Romanian Valentine’s Day

Dragobete – The Romanian Valentine’s Day

Dragobete, celebrated on the 24th of February, has deep roots in our history, being celebrated since the times of the Dacians. To them, Dragobete was a deity just like Cupid (Roman mythology) or Eros (in Greek mythology). He is believed to be a strong young man, who brings love in peoples’ hearts and homes.
